Friday November 22, 2024 1:45pm - 3:00pm PST
Safety is a top priority for all of us, especially as we continue to read school violence headlines and innocent lives are lost on campuses across the country. But what does a safe school look like and how do we engage our communities to positively change our culture, focusing on safety but not fear? Evolv Technology's Head of Education, Jill Lemond, served her former school district in the wake of a tragic school shooting and has learned many lessons in the hardest way as she led students, staff members, families, and the broader community back to school safely. Technology is just one part of a safety plan. This session focuses on the people and the processes necessary to effectively support safety technology as part of a layered approach to school security.

Inviting in all perspectives makes for an informed, connected, and engaged school community. Learn more about how dialogue around security enhancements and implementation of new safety protocols helped to foster trust in Oxford, Michigan as the community continues to heal and thrive today.
