About me
Dr. Shelley Boten is the Chief Academic Officer for Everett Public Schools, where she oversees the district's instructional programs, curriculum development, and content-aligned professional learning initiatives. With a focus on fostering high-quality teaching and learning for all students, Dr. Boten ensures that content delivery is aligned with district goals to support the academic success of over 20,000 students. Shelley works closely with department leaders and educators to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Prior to her current role, Shelley has held various leadership positions in education, including Director of Elementary Instruction as well as principal at both the middle and elementary levels. She holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Washington (L4L6), Masters of Education from Seattle University, and a BA from Michigan State University (Go Green!) Shelley is passionate about equity of access for all students, student-centered learning, and creating collaborative spaces for educators to grow.
